Cooking ingredients

  • 1½ lb Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 8 oz thick-cut bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp TSR Breakfast Salt, plus a pinch to finish
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup

Do it

  1. Heat the oven to 425°F. Thread the Brussels and bacon onto skewers, alternating as you go, cut sides facing out.
  2. Brush with the oil and season with the Breakfast Salt, getting it into the cut faces.
  3. Roast 20 to 25 minutes, turning once, until the bacon crisps and a knife slides into a sprout without a fight. A medium-high grill works the same way.
  4. Brush lightly with the maple and give them 2 more minutes, until glossy. Serve hot off the stick.

Tip for cooking

A tiny extra pinch of Breakfast Salt right at the end wakes the maple up. If you're on wooden skewers, soak them 20 minutes first so they come off the grill as pretty as they went on.
