Fresh green beans, butter, sliced almonds and a jar of The Salted Roots Red Rock Zen on a cutting board

Cooking ingredients

  • 1½ lb green beans, trimmed
  • 2 Tbsp butter (or olive oil)
  • 1½ tsp TSR Red Rock Zen, plus more to taste
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
Sprinkling The Salted Roots Red Rock Zen over green beans blistering in a hot pan

Do it

  1. Get a big skillet properly hot. Add 1 Tbsp of the butter and the green beans in one layer, then leave them alone 4 to 5 minutes, turning once or twice, until they blister and char in spots.
  2. Add the remaining butter and the Red Rock Zen. Toss 30 seconds, just until the butter goes glossy and clings to every bean.
  3. Splash in the lemon juice, shower with the almonds, and get them to the table hot.

Tip for cooking

Red Rock Zen runs deeper than it looks. Taste one bean before the next pinch, then follow your taste from there.
